Discover Þingvellir National Park, the Gullfoss waterfall, and the Geysir and Strokkur hot springs on a bus excursion to the Golden Circle!
The Golden Circle in Iceland represents three symbolic places in the south of the island: Þingvellir National Park (Thingvellir), the Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir, the still-active geyser in the Strokkur geothermal field. A must-see over the years, it's an accessible excursion from Reykjavik that's sure to give you a change of scenery.
You'll enjoy a transfer from Reykjavik, and take the road to Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park. Thingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, notably for having been the site of Europe's first parliament. Thingvellier is also where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet.
You'll continue your discovery of the Golden Circle with a visit to Gullfoss waterfall ("Golden Falls" in Icelandic). These 21-meter-high falls are officially considered a nature reserve, and come in 2 distinct stages.
You'll enjoy a lunch break near the 3rd place that makes up the Golden Circle: the Strokkur geothermal area. After lunch you'll visit this geothermal zone, in search of Geysir, a geyser that is still active and gushes out every 6 to 10 minutes.
At the end of this amazing natural spectacle, you'll be driven back to Reykjavik.
