Discover Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace on a private tour with a local French-speaking guide!
Your day will begin with a visit to Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares in the world. Rich in history, it stands as a powerful symbol of modern China and has been the site of many major political events in the country’s past.
You will then explore the Forbidden City, also known as the Imperial Palace. Built between 1406 and 1420, this vast imperial residence spans over 72 hectares and includes more than 9,000 rooms. Guided by your local expert, you’ll tour its majestic halls, the former imperial quarters, and the Treasure Gallery, home to impressive jade sculptures and golden stupas.
Following this cultural experience, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where you can savor traditional Chinese cuisine.
In the afternoon, you will choose between two iconic landmarks (to be selected when booking):
- The Temple of Heaven, built in the 15th century as a place of imperial worship, surrounded by peaceful gardens and symbolizing the connection between heaven and earth.
- The Summer Palace, a masterpiece of Chinese garden art often referred to as the “Versailles of China.” A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it reflects perfect harmony between nature and architecture.
At the end of the day, you will be taken back to your hotel.
