Set off from Frankfurt to spend a day exploring the Medieval town of Rothenburg!
Set off from Frankfurt in the morning and head out on a long romantic German road towards Bavaria. Along the way, you’ll travel through the Neckar Valley, passing the many castles for which is ancient route is famous.
When you arrive in Rothenburg, your guide will lead you on a guided walking tour of the town centre. During the tour, you’ll be able to admire:
- The Medieval ramparts
- Timber-framed houses
- The town gates
- The Renaissance-style town hall
- The Church of St. James (or St. Jakob)
- And much more!
Your guide will also give you tickets to visit the Kriminalmuseum, the museum of Medieval crimes and punishments.
You will then have some free time to enjoy your packed lunch and to explore the town further at your leisure. Take the opportunity to try a “Schneeball”, a local sweet pastry, or visit the Doll and Toy Museum or the Christmas Museum.
At the end of this trip back into olden-day Bavaria, you’ll be taken back to Frankfurt by bus for the early evening.
