Discover a unique heritage site combining history, nature, and contemporary art in Chaumont-sur-Loire!
Just under two hours from Paris, the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire stands proudly above the Loire River and stretches across over 30 hectares. Your ticket grants you access to a Renaissance château, landscaped park, historic stables and contemporary gardens.
You will begin your visit with the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire, once owned by Catherine de Medici and later by Diane de Poitiers. Lavishly furnished, the château immerses you in the Renaissance period.
You will enjoy a leisurely walk through the historical park, labeled a "Remarkable Garden", offering scenic views over the untamed Loire River. The site is also a renowned Centre for Arts and Nature, hosting around fifteen international artists each year. Installations, sculptures, and artworks are displayed in the castle, stables, barns and gardens.
From April 22 to November 1, 2026, you’ll explore the International Garden Festival, a world-renowned event showcasing 30 innovative gardens designed by landscape artists from around the globe. In 2026, the gardens will be inspired by the theme “Gardens in Cinema”.
Expect a full day of discovery combining heritage, artistic expression and botanical creativity.
