Explore the volcanic rocks of Rangitoto Island and climb to the top of the volcano to take in the superb panoramic views over the Hauraki Gulf!

Departing from the port of Auckland, you'll travel to Rangitoto Island on a ferry cruise across the Hauraki Gulf. Hop on-board a minibus and discover the island's geological wealth then, accompanied by a guide, follow a path to the summit of Rangitoto volcano. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf!

The minibus will return you to the ferry for the trip back to Auckland after a beautiful day surrounded by nature.

  • To take part in this activity simply present your booking voucher to the local tour operator on the day
  • Please arrive 30 minutes before the ferry departure time
  • There are no shops on Rangitoto island. We recommend that you bring your own food and drink, and a hat
  • In the event of exceptionally bad weather conditions the ferry will not be able to run. This will result in the tour's cancellation and a full refund
