Enjoy the Amsterdam Festival of Lights from the canals, and discover the city specially decorated for the occasion!
The Amsterdam Festival of Lights takes place every year from late November to mid-January, and gives the city of Amsterdam a unique atmosphere during its festive months.
You'll enjoy an hour-and-a-quarter cruise on the Amsterdam canals, with the chance to see twenty of the festival's illuminated works of art, all from the comfort of your own home. The cruise features commentary from loudspeakers in English and Dutch, so you can learn more about Amsterdam, the Festival of Lights and the works of art that parade past you.
Those with a chilly disposition will appreciate the "covered boat" option, with its heated interior. The boat has large windows and a transparent roof, so you can enjoy the works of art of the Amsterdam Festival of Lights.
If you want to get closer to the works of art, you'll appreciate the "open boat" option, a smaller boat with, as the name suggests, no roof. To make sure the experience isn't spoiled by the Dutch cold, you'll be provided with blankets for the duration of the cruise. This is also the best option if you want to immortalize the works of art in photographs!
From November 30, 2023 to January 21, 2024, the 12th edition of the Amsterdam Festival of Lights will take place, with this year's theme: LOADING... Revealing Art, AI and Tech. Through their works, artists have defined in their own way the impact of technology and artificial intelligence on our communications and, more broadly, on our lives.
